In an environmental landfill liner expansion project, contractors deployed HDPE geomembranes to establish impermeable barriers against leachate leakage. While hot wedge welders handled long straight seams, field technicians required a versatile hand extruder for complex detailing around pipe penetrations, sump pits, corner overlaps, and non-destructive destructive sampling patch-backs.

The pre-heat nozzle was set to ~280°C to soften the parent liner surface without thermal degradation.
Using the unit's 360° rotatable welding head, operators seamlessly maneuvered around tight 90-degree corners and circular pipe boot collars where automated wedge machines could not reach.
The LCD digital temperature controller ensured stable extrudate viscosity, maintaining consistent bond integrity during outdoor ambient temperature fluctuations.
Vacuum box testing verified zero air leaks across all detail welds. Tensile strength tests confirmed seam strength achieved >90% of the parent membrane strength.
